Loretta Stellwag Obituary

Tatitlek resident Loretta Stellwag, 65, passed away at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage on June 20, 2025.
Loretta was born in 1959, to Jack Kompkoff and Irene Vlasoff. Loretta grew up in both Anchorage and Tatitlek and made Tatitlek her permanent home.
Loretta was the most caring person with a heart of gold, musical laughter, and a smile that could brighten the darkest day. She served her community for many years as Tribal Administrator and was always eager to support the community's youth by donating baked goods and beadwork for fundraisers. She was an integral part of her family, offering love, comfort, strength and endless generosity and support. She enjoyed music, exploring new places, beading, baking, berry picking, and spending time with her daughter and grand dogs, friends and family.
Loretta is survived by her daughter Deserae, siblings Ricky, Annette and Matthew, nephews Wayne, Ricky Jr., Christian, Kristopher, and Isaiah, niece Andrea, uncles, aunts, and many cousins. Loretta was greeted in the after life by her soul mate Kevin, unborn twin sons, parents Jack and Irene, siblings Jack Jr. and Cheryl, and many other family members and friends.
Loretta was loved and adored by many people.
A celebration of life will be held in Tatitlek on July 9, 2025. Friends and family who cannot attend are invited to honor her memory by listening to Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum and share memories of Loretta with their loved ones. May her memory be eternal.
