Lorraine Calderwood, 86, of Hernando, Florida, formerly of Amesbury, Massachusetts, passed away after a brief illness, with her loving family by her side. She leaves behind a legacy of love as the cherished mother of four children, Carla (Brian) Leblanc, David (Melissa) Calderwood, Kelley (Mark) Queenan, and Nicole (Jeffrey) Worthen. She was a proud grandmother to thirteen grandchildren, Rebecca LeBlanc and her husband Taylor Feuti, Vanessa (Paul) Covelle, Savanna and her fiance Erick Duffy, and Benjamin LeBlanc, Shea and Caleb Calderwood, Maggie Carrier and fiance Connor Wood, Zachary (Megan) Queenan, Karley (Brandon) Walker, Whitney Queenan, Ashley (Benjamin) Clouthier, and Matthew and Sean Worthen. Her love extended even further to nine great-grandchildren, Tucker Covelle, Penelope, Amelia, Rowan, and Bonnie Queenan, Forrest Walker, Jacob Clouthier and Marcelline and Jameson Wood.
Born at home on Fern Avenue in Amesbury, Lorraine was the daughter of the late George and Leah (Grandmaison) Mahair of Salisbury and Dunnellon, Florida. A graduate of Amesbury High School, Lorraine dedicated much of her life to hard work and caring for others. She worked in several roles, most notably at the Susse Chalet and the IRS, all while taking care of her beloved grandchildren and children of close family friends, many of whom still affectionately call her “Aunty”.
Lorraine shared 59 1/2 wonderful years of marriage with her late husband Carl, traveling between Massachusetts and Florida until his passing in 2022. She is also survived by her brother, Robert (Lovey) Mahair, her extended Calderwood in-laws, and numerous relatives and friends.
Lorraine will be remembered for her strength, selfless love, and delicious cooking. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date at St. Joseph’s Church of St. Andre Bessette Parish, 2 School Street, Amesbury, MA followed by a Graveside Service at St. Joseph Cemetery, Amesbury, where Lorraine will be laid to eternal rest. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers and Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lorraine Calderwood may be made by the donor’s choice.
