Louvenia Jackson Smalls, 88, of Thomasville, GA, passed away on April 19, 2025. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Louvenia will be deeply missed by her family and those who loved her. Born in Thomas County, Louvenia was the daughter of the late John Jackson Sr. and Athie Boone Jackson. She was one of 13 children and is survived by two sisters. She graduated from Ochlocknee High School and attended college in New Jersey. Louvenia dedicated her professional life as an Assistant to Engineers, where she worked in blueprinting for missile systems at Austin Engineering Firm in New Jersey. She was a faithful member of Crossroads Pentecostal Church and was actively involved in her community, including the Bethlehem Chapter 22 of the Eastern Star in Paterson, NJ. In addition to her parents, Louvenia was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Smalls (married in March 1982 in Bronx, New York), her son Edward Jackson Sr., her grandson Edward Jackson Jr., three sisters, seven brothers, and a son-in-law, Perry Gibbs. She is survived by her children: Linda Gibbs of Sunrise, FL, Tawanda Sangster (Anthony) of Paterson, NJ, and Willie Peterkin Jr. (Ginger) of Pasco, WA. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Whiddon Shiver Funeral Home on Friday - April 25th at 3:00 pm with visitation held one hour prior to the service from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
