Lucille Helen Daanen, 93, of DePere, passed away on August 1, 2025 at The Courtyard at Bellevue. She was born on October 23, 1931 to Frederick and Mary (Schluter) Benike in Hartford, WI.
On November 17, 1950, she married Kenneth W. Daanen at St. Patrick's Church in Green Bay, WI. They shared 49 years of marriage together before his passing on August 30, 2000.
Lou enjoyed reading, and especially loved thrillers. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, needlepoint embroidery, and she was an excellent baker. Her Schaum Torte and pies were beloved by her family.
Lucille is survived by her loving children: Laurie (Harvey) Tashiro, William (Sue) Daanen and Peter (Robin) Daanen; three grandchildren: Kristine, Richard, and Rebecca; four great grandchildren, and one brother, George Benike. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken, her parents, and seven siblings.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at The Courtyard at Bellevue and AseraCare Hospice Care for their compassionate support and care.
