Barbara Hiznay Obituary

Barbara passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Hiznay, her mother, Estella Space, her father, Denver Shoemaker, her sisters, Alice Noel, Charlene Krisanosky, her brothers David L. Space and Richard Space, son Michael Farwell, & grandson Tony Cammilleri.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Steven Cammilleri & Andrew Hiznay & her daughters, Angeline Barna & Sherry Casey; her grandsons, Matthew Bryan, Steven Cammilleri, Johnathan Casey, Charlie Farwell, & Michael Farwell; her granddaughters, Barbara Bryan, Kelly Bryan, Rachel Rentoul, Rebecca Higgins, & Kaityln Hiznay; and her 14 great grandchildren. Barbara was a very outgoing & classy woman who unconditionally loved her family. She was full of laughter and a lust for life. Barb was an avid fan of horse racing her whole life and enjoyed playing cards. Barbara loved cooking her amazing dishes for her family whether during holiday gatherings or at dinner. She was loved by her family & will be dearly missed.

Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Friday September 19, from 10-11am with a service at 11am at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway Wilmington 19808. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Barbara may be made to Faithful Friends, 165 Airport Rd. New Castle, DE 19720 or faithfulfriends.us.
