Luther Phillips Obituary

Luther Ray Phillips, age 73, passed away in the comfort of his own home on Thursday, May 22, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on February 8, 1952, to his parents, Hershel and Clara Phillips, both have preceded him in death. Luther is also preceded by his brothers, Houston, Herman, Gerald, and Donald, and sisters, Berth Ann and Sarah.
Luther is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Cathey Glasscock Phillips; daughters, Angie Phillips Glass (Leon) and Tamela Phillips-Lucas; sons, Jerry Phillips (Tracey) and Joey Phillips (Becky); grandchildren, Andrew Glass (Lindsay), Michael Lucas (Desiree), Carrie Beth Cracraft (Jordan), Emiley Glass, Brandon Phillips, Jay Lucas, Matthew Phillips (Taylor) Dalton Phillips, and Camden Phillips; 18 great grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Harvey), Dean (Wayne) and Nancy; and brother, Roger (Jodi).
Services will be held at Charter Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. A visitation will be held at 10 am followed by a service at 11 am. Luther will be laid to rest in Shelby Memory Gardens.
