A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau for Mrs. Lydia Thibodeaux, 71, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loved ones.
The family would like for visiting hours to be observed at the Matthews Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM with a rosary led by Debbie Richard will be recited at 6:00 PM. Visiting will resume on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 8:00 AM until her services. Father Ravi Jampanji will be officiating her services. Interment will immediately follow her mass at the Istre Cemetery in Morse, LA.
Mrs. Lydia was born in Jennings, LA, on October 1, 1953, to the late Mr. Aubrey LeBlanc and Mrs. Estelle LeBlanc of Mermentau, LA. Together with her husband, Larry Thibodeaux, she raised their two sons, Lonnie and Larson, in their hometown Mermentau, LA. Lydia worked and retired from the Midland High School Cafeteria after 25 years of service. A loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by the ones she held most dear.
Lydia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Thibodeaux; her two sons, Lonnie Thibodeaux (Kourtney) and Larson Thibodeaux (Angie); seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters, Winona Campbell and Becky Duhon.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey LeBlanc and Estelle LeBlanc; her brothers, Hubert "Red" LeBlanc and Aubrey LeBlanc Jr.
Pallbearers carrying Mrs. Lydia to her place of rest will be Ronny Dale Daley, Mahlon LeBlanc, Damian LeBlanc, Garrett Dean "Deno" Duhon, Jr., Adrian Frey and Tristan Thibodeaux.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Matthews Funeral Home LLC, 511 N Cutting Ave Jennings, LA 70546
