Lydia Ann Tussey, 74 of Danville, passed away on July 07, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 01, 1951 in Indianapolis to the late Gwendolyn Goodwin Guthrie "Gwen" and Frank E. Guthrie, Jr. Ann married Kevin A. Tussey on July 26, 1986 in Danville.
Ann grew up in Danville. She graduated from Indiana State University and received her master's degree from DePauw University. Ann was an elementary school teacher at North Elementary in Danville and taught kindergarten throughout her career. She enjoyed her retirement years volunteering in the community at Shared Blessing Food Panty and the Hendricks County Historical Museum. Ann served as a trustee on the Danville Public Library Board for 16 years. She was a member of Tri Kappa, Up to Date Club, Hendricks County Garden Club and Book and a Meal Book Club.
Ann was an avid reader, creative crafter, and busy baker and cook. She enjoyed antiquing, traveling on road trips and attending basketball games with Kevin. Ann loved her Kindergartners and the 36 years she taught in Danville. She enjoyed being the hostess for family Thanksgivings at which she added a formal touch. An animal lover, she especially loved her pet cat and bird watching. Ann was always ready to gather with friends, laugh and tell stories. She was a devoted daughter, caring aunt, and wife.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Kevin A. Tussey of Danville; brother, Trip Guthrie and wife, Lisa of Danville; sister-in-law, Sheila Richardville of Plainfield; 4 nieces and nephews, Tricia Satterfield (Neil), Ben Guthrie, Cory Richardville (Mandy), Kelly Sisson (Brent); 6 great nieces and nephews, Nathan Satterfield, Laurel Satterfield, Peyton Sisson (Ashlyn), Parker Sisson, Spencer Richardville, and Olivia Richardville.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 13, 2025 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with Pastor Venessa Harmel officiating. Friends and family may call from 1:00 pm until the service time in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Tussey Scholarship and Grant Program c/o Danville Community Education Foundation 200 Warrior Way Danville, IN 46122.
