Obituary of Lydia L. Vitale
VITALE, Lydia L. (Dolfi), "Mrs. V" of Saginaw Michigan, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at Transitions of Saginaw on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at age 95. Lydia was born on February 25, 1930, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Ernesto Dolfi and Preme Dolfi. Lydia married the love of her life, Joseph E. Vitale, (deceased February 2, 2011), on January 14, 1950, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Saginaw, MI. They had three daughters. In 1979, Lydia and Joe purchased their first Texan Restaurant in Saginaw and later branched out to other Tri City locations. She enjoyed getting together with family and friends. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Golfing was one of her hobbies and she and Joe liked going to Vegas. Her favorite place was on the beach at Marco Island, FL, where they owned a condo.
Surviving are three daughters, Carol (Edward) Moszyk of Bay City, MI, Barbara (Joseph) Kelly of Fleming Island, FL, and Deborah (Frederick) Lutz, Jr. of Saginaw, MI; Seven grandchildren, Bill (Erica) Kelly, Adam (Laura) Lutz, Caitlin Kelly, Jonathan (Kristen) Lutz, Amanda (Alex) McGlashen, Kevin (Rachell) Lutz, and Joshua (Rachel) Moszyk; great-grandchildren include Adelyn and Emmarie Horne, Sophie and Claire Rollins, Darwin Kelly, Stephen, Layla and Lexie Lutz, Owen and Graysen Lutz, Cameron and Callan McGlashen, and Emma Moszyk, expected anyday. Also surviving is her loving sister, Mary Lou (the late James) Fritzler, and nieces and nephews; Cindy (Kris) Miotto, Steven (Denise) Fritzler, Douglas (Heather) Fritzler and Greg Fritzler; and several cousins.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with Lydia's family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State St.) on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A Vigil for Lydia will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Lydia will lie in state at St. Dominic Parish – St. Stephen Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
FUNERAL: Lydia's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at St. Dominic Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn, Saginaw, MI. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery.
