Lynn Blaylock Obituary

Greensboro – Lynn Kirkman Blaylock, age 96, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Born in Greensboro, NC on August 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Claude Paisley Kirkman and Ethel Lynne Lashley Kirkman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman Bill Blaylock; her brothers, Claude Paisley Kirkman, Jr. and John William Kirkman; and her sister, Charlotte Kirkman Morrison.
Long-time residents of Rocky Mount, Lynn and her husband Bill were both dedicated members of First Baptist Church of Rocky Mount. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend to many, Lynn will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Lynn is survived by her sons, Dr. Norman Bill Blaylock, Jr. and Dr. Brent L. Blaylock and his wife Debbie; her grandchildren, Justin and wife Kimberlee, Wes and wife Leigh, Brent and wife Kate, and Andrew and wife Amanda; her great grandchildren, Raegan, Reeves, June, Cole, Jack, Faith, and Coleman; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dearest friends.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Lynn's life will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with the Rev. Dr. Bill Grisham officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service at Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynn's name to First Baptist Church of Rocky Mount, 200 S. Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or to a charity of choice.
