Lynn Gordon Obituary

Lynn Fraser Gordon, DDS, age 84 of Texarkana, TX, went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 19, 2025 in a Texarkana Assisted Living Center. Lynn was born August 8, 1940, in New Eagle Borough, Pennsylvania, to Charles Clayton and Marie Gordon. He grew up in Hughes Springs, Texas where he was a gifted athlete. Lynn lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He was the quarterback of the football team and was awarded a scholarship to play football at SMU. Lynn played for two years at SMU and then transferred to San Diego State where he completed his college degree. He then was accepted into Dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco California and upon graduation he entered into the United State Army. Lynn was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany during the Vietnam War and after the completion of his three years of service he returned to East Texas to raise his family. Lynn started his Dental Practice in Hughes Springs and practiced for about 15 years. He was a lifelong member of Hughes Springs Methodist Church. He moved to Dallas and practiced for several years and concluded his Dental career in San Antonio. Lynn was also a member of the American Dental Society; and an Eagle Scout.
Lynn was preceded in death by his Parents Charles and Marie Gordon.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer Gordon Maloney and husband Curtis of Nashville, TN, Becky McClure and husband Matt of Atlanta, Brodie Gordon and wife Jennifer of Fair Hope, Alabama, Mike Steedman Gordon of Reno, NV; step-daughters, Tasha Yielding of Paris, Nina Hindsman of El Paso; sisters, Linda McClain and husband Stephen of El Paso, Jane Witte and husband Dave of Snyder; brothers, Bill Gordon of Brenham, John Gordon of Kingman, AZ; grandchildren, Savannah Norman and husband Chase of Conway, AR, Mallory McClure of The Colony, Cooper McClure of Atlanta, Annabel Gordon of Fair Hope, AL, Georgia Gordon of Fair Hope, AL, Zoe Smith and husband Spencer of New Zealand, Logan Steedman and Colton Steedman both of Reno, NV; great-grandchildren, Finley, Haven, Zephyr, and Thatcher Smith; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Pruitt Lake Fish Camp.
