Lynn Curtis Wagner, 69, of Spencer, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD. Funeral services will begin at 1 pm on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, with a 7 pm prayer service also at the church in Spencer.

Lynn Wagner was born February 19, 1956, in Mitchell to Norman and Dorothy (Bauer) Wagner. He grew up in Spencer and graduated from Spencer High School. On September 30, 1978, Lynn married Patty Alsgaard. This union was blessed with one son, Jonathan. Lynn worked at Paramount Pipe and then as a truck driver, operating heavy equipment at the Spencer quarries until his health forced his retirement.

He was a man of few words but was known for his kind and gentle nature. He loved hunting and fishing and going over to his mom's house on Sundays for brunch with the family. He was a lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan which has carried onto his son and grandson. He truly enjoyed going to Jon and Eli's sporting events. He also enjoyed time spent in the Black Hills. Lynn was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church for years until it closed after the tornado in 1998, then attended Trinity Lutheran Church.

Lynn is survived by: his wife, Patty of Spencer; son, Jonathan of Brookings; grandson, Elijah of Brookings; mother, Dorothy of Spencer; siblings, Cindy Gross of Spencer, Rick (Lisa) Wagner of Menomonie, WI, Bob (Jan) Wagner of Florence, AZ, Lisa (Tim) Kirby of Spencer and Kim (Chris) Vinz of Spencer; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman, brother-in-law, Sherwin Gross and in-laws, Allan and Dorothy Alsgaard.
