Lynn Worrell, 77, passed away on January 4, 2025 at Atrium Village after a long illness.
Lynn was born on April 26, 1947 in Macomb, Illinois to Walter and Josephine (Davis) Doolen. After graduating high school, Lynn attended Western Illinois College and the University of Iowa where she received her teaching degree. She also went on to obtain her Master's degree.
On June 26, 1971, Lynn married James Worrell in Macomb and to this union, three children were born. While Jim was serving in the United States Navy, Lynn worked as a teacher in Tennessee while Jim was stationed there for two years. After his discharge, Lynn became a homemaker and focused on raising their family.
In her minimum spare time, Lynn enjoyed tennis and golf. She tended to the house and was a very good cook. Lynn spent a lot of time with her family and her many friends.
Lynn is survived by her loving husband, Jim; children: Jason (Stephanie) Worrell, Courtney (Ryan) Peirce and Chris (Dani) Worrell and her grandchildren: Hunter, Oliver and Charlotte Worrell and Max, Blaise, Jack and Avery Peirce. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jane Doolen.
A celebration of life is planned for spring/summer 2025 at The Kirkwood Room in Iowa City. Details will be forthcoming.
