Madeline J. Blevins, 88 years, of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with Lord on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at her daughter's home in Hillsdale, Michigan.
Born March 7, 1937, in Monroe, Madeline was the daughter of the late Frank C. and Julia L. (Cooley) Castello. She attended, Lincoln, St. Joseph, and St. Mary Elementary Schools. Madeline was very proud that, while in her 40's, she went back to school and received her GED from Monroe Public Schools.
On November 3, 1956, Madeline married her beloved husband, Daniel D. Blevins, in Monroe. Twenty-five years later they renewed their vows at St. Mary Catholic Church in Monroe. Sadly, Dan preceded her in death on April 3, 2021, after 64 years, of marriage.
Madeline was a wonderful homemaker in addition to selling Avon for many years.
Baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith, Madeline attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Monroe. She was a member of Frenchtown Senior Citizens. She would fondly reminisce about babysitting for the kids in her old neighborhood. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, bowling, and playing Bingo. Most of all Madeline enjoyed time spent with family.
Madeline is survived by two loving children: Peggy A. (Richard) Evola of Hillsdale, MI and Daniel D. (Christine) Blevins, Jr., of Monroe, three cherished granddaughters: Ashley (John) Warnke, Nicole Blevins, and Alexis (Andrew) Damavoletes, four cherished great grandchildren: Joshua Nash, RaIshan Nash, Aubrey Warke and soon to brought into this world, Lyla Damavoletes, and two siblings: Joseph Costello and Delores Ann Robideau both of Monroe.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Madeline was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 – 8 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161, where funeral services celebrating Madeline's life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10:30 am. Deacon Mike Stewart will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe.
