Madelyn D Hawkes Knox,101 years old, of Raymond, NH.
Always the life of the party, Madelyn went out with a bang on July 4, 2025, she passed peacefully surrounded by the family who loved her unconditionally, her legacy of joy, laughter, and love will continue to live on in all who knew her.
Born on March 4, 1924 on Rings Island in Salisbury, Massachusetts, Madelyn was the beloved daughter of the late Marjorie Pearson Hawkes and Eugene Hawkes, She grew up in a bustling household with siblings Velma, Vincent, Paul, David and Shirley. Madelyn was a devoted mother of two and is predeceased by her husband, Fred Knox Sr, and her son Fred Knox Jr.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Carol Knox Of Raymond, New Hampshire, Madelyn's pride and joy were her grandchildren: Frank Elwell Jr, David Elwell, Fred Elwell, Linda Pitkin, and Raymond Elwell Sr, as well as her remarkable legacy of 16 great-grandchildren and 40 great-great grandchildren. Madelyn was proud to represent five generations of family. Madelyn will be remembered for her infectious smile, contagious laughter, and a heart as big as the sky. She had a special talent for making her grandchildren laugh and always knew how to bring joy into a room, she never missed an opportunity to enjoy life's little pleasures - especially her favorite mudslides and chocolate ice cream. Madelyn final wish was simple: to see the grandkids one more time, that wish was granted, and her heart was full. Madelyn will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
