Funeral services for Mamie Leah Sargent Majoria, 86, of Marrero, LA will be held at Harrisonburg First Baptist Church on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 1PM. Interment will follow to Harrisonburg Cemetery, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church from 12noon until service time at 1PM.
Mamie passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, June 29, 2025. She was born in Harrisonburg, LA, on Monday, April 24, 1939, and graduated from Harrisonburg High School. After high school, Mamie attended Charity Hospital Nursing School in New Orleans, LA. She worked as a registered nurse at West Jefferson Hospital and The Family Doctors in Marrero, LA. She enjoyed reading, gardening, puzzles, traveling, going home to Sargent Lake, and spending time with friends and family.
Mamie is survived by son Brett Majoria (SiSi) and daughter Carmella Majoria. Grandchildren Megan Majoria (Ronald), Ryan Majoria, Michele Dalon, YingHong and JingYu Zhao. Great-granddaughter Devin Michaela. Beloved brother Bill Sargent (Ann). Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mamie was welcomed into Heaven by her husband of 49 years John Majoria, her parents Roy and Dorothy Sargent, sister Carol Kennedy, grandson Devin Repath, best friend of 68 years, Emma Dean McDaniel and the many pets Johnny and her had throughout the years, especially Fuji.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to St. Jude's or your chosen Charity.
