Margaret Casler, 94 of Alexandria, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Grand Arbor in Alexandria. Private family services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Montevideo at a later date. 

Margaret Irene Bourne Casler was born on January 21, 1931 on the home farm to Halvor and Amanda Bourne, who lived in Chippewa County, Rosewood Township, Montevideo, Minnesota. She was the firstborn of a set of identical twin girls where there were already six siblings.

Margaret attended Rosewood Township rural school through eight grades; then attended Central High School in Montevideo, graduating in 1949. She worked at various secretarial positions in Montevideo and Minneapolis. She was baptized (1931) and confirmed (1945) at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Watson; and was married in that same church on September 12, 1953 to Darwin Jerome Casler of Ortonville, Minnesota. She raised three children and worked at various universities as an administrative secretary where her husband was a professor. She retired in 1996 from an administrative position at American Airlines and moved home to Minnesota in the year 2000. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Garfield where she is active in the choir and quilting group.

She is survived by her children: Ann Zuhn, Michael Casler, and Jon Casler; as well as many other beloved family members and friends.
