Margaret Mary McCartney, born on October 12, 1945, in Maspeth, New York to her parents Thomas and Mary Ellen, passed away on January 12, 2025, at the age of 79. A beloved figure in her community, Margaret was known for her kind and caring nature, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Margaret was a beloved parishioner of Saints Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church for many years, gaining the love and mutual respect from the community.
Margaret dedicated her career to the art of gift wrapping, working at Macy's where she showcased her exceptional skills and creativity. Her attention to detail and her vibrant personality made every wrapped gift not just a present, but a cherished experience for those receiving it.
She will be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments but also for the warmth she brought into the lives of her family and friends.
Margaret is survived by Joseph Belmont, Florence Belmont, and Mary Perticone, all of whom cherished her deeply. The bonds she formed with her family were exceptional and her legacy of love and support for them will forever be treasured.
A Mass in her honor will be held on January 21, 2025, at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church located at 125 Half Hollow Rd., Deer Park, NY 11729. The service will begin at 9:15 AM, followed by a time for reflection on her remarkable life. Family and friends who wish to attend the services are asked to meet directly at church by 9:00 AM.
Margaret Mary McCartney will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and generous heart will continue to live on in the memories of those who loved her.
