Margaret Dove Paitsel, 83, of New Castle, VA, was called home on June 15, 2025. She was born on April 16, 1942, to the late James Edward Paitsel and Alva Hutchinson Paitsel. Margaret was a homemaker and a caregiver to the many children in her family and to her mother and sister before their passing. Margaret was a kind soul, and those that knew her always spoke of her joy, gentleness, and faith in the Lord. Much like her mother, Alva, she enjoyed the flowers in her garden, watching the hummingbirds that came to visit, and listening to all of her favorite TV preachers. She was a prayer warrior and always prayed diligently for her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant brother, Delbert; sisters, Ruby St. Clair, Lucille Huffman, Shirley Paitsel; nephews, Kenneth James "Jimmy" Paitsel, Jr, Gary Huffman, Junior Huffman, and Teddy Kendall; niece, Sherry Ann Toler; godson, Joshua Humphries; and a host of extended family members including several brothers and sisters-in-law, including Wendall Medley, Leonard Ray, and Linda Paitsel.
She is survived by her siblings, Kenneth Paitsel, Sr., Harriet Medley, Oneta Paitsel-Toler, Diane Ray; nieces, Angela Kendall, Tammy Medley, Amanda Hicks; numerous nieces, nephews; including a special relationship with her niece, Patsy Van Dyke; and great nieces and nephews, including Josh, Alisha, Alex, Aaron, Andrew, Aria, and Pheobe.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Paitsel Funeral Home Chapel in New Castle, with Pastor Loraine Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Huffman Memorial Park.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 PM until the hour of the service.
