Margaret Lillian Taylor, age 80, of Corydon, IN, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025. Born on January 20, 1945, to Edward and Norma (Whitehead) Overton, in Corydon, IN.
Margy, as she was fondly known, graduated from Corydon Central High School in the Class of 1963. After high school, she began her career at Indiana Bell in New Albany, IN, where she worked as a secretary until her retirement. She married James Taylor on October 23, 1963, and the couple made their home in Crandall, IN. Margy and James shared many years of love and happiness together before his passing.
In her free time, Margy enjoyed quilting, sewing, and creating beautiful items for her loved ones. Above all, she treasured spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandson.
Margy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Norma Overton; her husband, James Taylor; and her brother, Edward Overton, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Don) Miller; two sisters, Virginia (Steve) Taylor and Elsie (Steve) Yahraus; granddaughters, Taylor Miller and Emily (Mike Organ) Miller; and her great-grandson, James Organ. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey, IN. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. that same day. Burial will take place at Bethlehem Cemetery.
