Margie Hawkins Obituary

Margie Corinne Hawkins, 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 12, 1946, in Doddsville, Mississippi. Margie was the daughter of the late William and Druscillia Hughes of Vaiden, Mississippi. On May 22, 1965, she married the love of herr life, Johnny Mac Hawkins, and together they shared 60 beautiful years of marriage.
Margie dedicates her professional life to caring for others, serving as a nurse with Mississippi Department of Health in Humphreys County for over 25 years. Beyond her career, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She was a loving supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and found peace in the simple pleasure of reading, Her smile and laughter will be missed by many.
Margie was preceded in by her beloved daughter, Bonnie Hawkins Blount and her parents, William and Druscillia Hughes.
Margie's memory will be forever cherished by herr husband, Johnny Hawkins; Her son Ben Hawkins, and his wife Sue of Pearl, Mississippi; and her grandchildren; Richard Turner and his wife Meredith , Miranda Bonds and her husband Hunter, and Madison Hawkins and her fiance`s Woods. She also leaves behind her adored great-grandchildren; Eli, Bonnie Mae, Meri Frances, Landry and Tatum.
Margie will be remember for her kind heart, steadfast love, and the legacy of family she leaves behind.
Services will held Thursday July 31, 2025 at Mortimer Funeral Home, Belzoni. Visitation will start at 9 AM, followed by the service at 10 AM. Reverend Richard Winman will officiate. Private burial will be held at Mathena Cemetery.
