Maria Amelia (Pacheco) Amaral,92, fondly known as Maria, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Evergreen House in East Providence, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, on January 1, 1933, to the late Manuel and Albertina (Camara) Pacheco, Maria was a beacon of love and generosity throughout life.

Maria was the beloved wife of the late Armando Amaral, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. She was a devoted mother, nurturing her children with unwavering support and faith. She is survived by her loving sons, Antonio Amaral and his late wife Isabel of Seekonk, Armando Amaral and his wife Zelia of East Providence, Carlos Amaral and his wife Fatima of Swansea, Victor Amaral and his wife Suzanne of New York, and her cherished daughters, Fatima Sardinha and her husband Edward of Fall River, and Goretti Botelho and her husband Ze of East Providence. Maria was also a caring sister to Antonio Pacheco of Canada, Leonor Pacheco and Laudalina Cantareiro, both of New York, and she was predeceased by her brothers Julio, Manuel, and Simao Pacheco.

Maria's legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Kevin, Jason, Timothy, Nathan, E.J., Gabriel, Tanya, Chantel, Jasmine, Mea, Emmi, Melissa, Jenny, and Nicole, and her 13 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories and the lessons she imparted. She also leaves behind a tapestry of life woven with the threads of many loving nieces and nephews.

Throughout her career, Maria was a dedicated machine operator at Allens Manufacturing and later worked as a solderer at Imperial Pearl until her retirement in 1998. Her work ethic was matched only by her loving nature and her commitment to her faith, which guided her every action and interaction. Maria's generous spirit was evident not only in her professional life but also in her active involvement in her community. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church.

Those who knew Maria will remember her as the embodiment of love and generosity. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, and it shone brightly in her every word and deed. Maria's warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her influence will continue to be felt for generations.

As we bid farewell to Maria Amelia Amaral, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by unwavering faith, boundless love, and a generous spirit that uplifted everyone around her. Her memory will be held in the hearts of those she leaves behind, as a guiding light and a source of comfort and strength. Maria's journey on earth may have ended, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. Rest in peace, dear Maria, until we meet again.
