Gay was born in Versailles, Kentucky, to the late Marion and Margaret Holland. Gay worked for Rand McNally for nearly 40 years in quality control. Gay enjoyed her cooking shows, holidays and most dear to her heart was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, James Smith of Versailles, Jennifer (Rondall) Mosley of Corinth and Kim Walls of Versailles. Gay is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley Walls, Tiffany (Luke) Humphrey, Tyler (Katherine) Smith, Amber (JB) Brooks, Trey (Kaitlynn) Binder, Jared Griffith, Great-Grandchildren Kylia Walls, Maddix Angulo, Justin Brooks, Oliver Griffith, Iris Griffith and Nora Griffith.
Gay was also preceded in death by her brother James Holland, sisters Molly Hay, Peggy Flora and Helen McIntosh.
Burial for Gay will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 12:00.
