Marian Yvonne Freud, (nee Vozella), 82, of Allendale, NJ, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025. Before retiring, Marian worked as a Financial Executive for Citibank. A passionate traveler with a deep love for Paris, France, Marian embraced the world with curiosity, grace, and an open heart. She found joy in cooking for others, writing both poetry and journalism, and acting in regional theaters, where she brought characters to life with quiet brilliance. Her writing reflected a sharp, thoughtful mind and a deep sensitivity to the world around her. Known to many as the "cheetah lady" for her signature print and playful style, Marian's vibrant spirit, artistic soul, and reflective intellect touched everyone who knew her.
Born and raised in NJ, Marian moved with her longtime boyfriend to Florida in 2012. While living life by the ocean and palm trees which she loved very much, she developed a condition causing certain memories of hers to fade. Marian faced these challenges with courage and strength, always remaining the loving person we knew her to be.
Over 2 years ago, needing to be close to immediate Family, she relocated to NJ when her condition advanced. She was supported with a circle of love and Marian kept her longtime memories vivid in her soul and an enthusiasm for meeting new people and staying active. Marian's energy, warmth and personality continued to make her feel like home to those who knew her best.
She will be dearly missed. Beloved Mother of Catherine DeMaria and her fiancé James Ronayne. Loving grandmother of Michelle DeMaria and Juliette DeMaria. Cherished aunt of Joseph Turco, John Turco, and great niece, Jennifer Turco. Predeceased by her sister, Kathleen Turco.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Annunciation R.C. Church, 50 W Midland Ave, Paramus, NJ. Interment immediately following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
