Marie Bachman Obituary

Marie Bachman, 65, of Iowa Falls, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025 at her home. She will be laid to rest with a family graveside inurnment. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory of Iowa Falls is caring for Marie and her family. Marie Suzanne Bachman was born on September 16, 1960, the daughter of Lester and Faye (Duncan) Peters Sr. in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Marie graduated from Eldora High School and continued her education at Ellsworth Community College in the nursing program. She worked for the nursing facilities Dayco, Dodgers and Valley View in the Eldora area, and the Osage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Osage, Iowa throughout her career. On September 20, 1978 Marie was united in marriage to Michael Duane Bachman in Eldora, Iowa. Marie fought a hard strong battle with colon cancer. She passed away with her family by her side. Her calling was to be a nurse and she truly loved taking care of her residents in both Eldora and Osage. She worked tirelessly making sure they were treated with the care and dignity they deserved. Marie had a generous spirit and always made sure residents got extra surprises such as candy, ink pens, pizza parties, blankets, and more. Her caring and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Marie Bachman is survived by her son, Jason Lee Bachman of Iowa City, Iowa; brothers, William (Jane) Peters of Alden, Iowa, Daniel (Sue) Peters of Osceola, Iowa; sisters, Faye Nederhoff of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Gladys Keipper of Van Wert, Ohio; sisters in-law, Frances Peters of Eldora, Iowa, Denise Peters of Eldora, Iowa and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Bachman; parents, Lester and Faye Peters Sr.; brothers, Darrell Levin Peters, Lester Thomas Peters Jr., Duncan Lee Peters (in infancy); sister, Verna Jo Peters (in infancy); brothers in-law, Donald Nederhoff and Collin Keipper.
