Marie Josephine Theresa McGoff, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025. She was a resident of Sterling Heights for the past 18 years and formerly of Washington Township.

Born on November 20, 1936, in Toronto, Ontario, Marie was the beloved daughter of Gaetano and Mary (née Bonnici) Guillaumier. She was raised in Canada through the 8th grade before moving to Detroit, where she graduated from Immaculata High School. Her Catholic faith remained a guiding light throughout her life.

Marie had a professional career as an executive secretary at General Motors, where she worked for 17 years before retiring in 2003. Though proud of her work, Marie always considered her most important and cherished role to be that of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

On September 29, 1956, she eloped with the love of her life, Robert Burns McGoff, in Gary, Indiana. Together, they built a beautiful life and a large, loving family, raising ten children and creating a home filled with laughter and warmth.

In her younger years, Marie enjoyed sewing and took up bowling for a while. After retirement, she took up playing the organ and continued to nurture her faith by reading about Catholicism, particularly finding joy in learning about angels. A longtime member of St. Rene Goupil Catholic Parish in Sterling Heights, Marie's faith was reflected in the gentle and nurturing way she treated others. She will be remembered for her motherly nature and her deep love for babies-especially in her treasured role as a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Marie is survived by her beloved husband, Robert McGoff; loving children: Holly (Steve) Hale, Robert (Erica) McGoff, Dawn (Ed) Radzioch, Joel McGoff, Duane (Denice) McGoff, Kerry (Danja) McGoff, Dara (Jeff) Craig, Shawn (Nancy) McGoff, and Ian (Tracy) McGoff; and son-in-law, Mike Craig. She was also the proud grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee Craig; her parents, Gaetano and Mary Guillaumier; and her siblings, Vincent (Helen) Guillaumier, Antoinette (Grazio) Borg, Elsie (Demitry) Borg, Olga (Ed) Greck, and Edward Guillaumier.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Gramer Funeral Home, Diener Chapel, 48271 Van Dyke Avenue, Shelby Township, MI 48317. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at St. Rene Goupil Catholic Parish, 35955 Ryan Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48310. In-state viewing will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by Mass at 9:30 AM.

Contributions in memory of Marie may be made to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, or the Alzheimer's Association. Flowers are also welcomed and appreciated by the family.
