Marie Nolan Obituary

Marie Elane Nolan, age 60, of Seymour, passed away unexpectedly on July 13, 2025.
Born on April 8, 1965, in Knox, Indiana, Marie was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Geraldine (Tremel) King.
She was a 1983 graduate of Oregon Davis High School and later went to work at Aisin Drivetrain Inc. in Crothersville for 25 years.
Marie was many things: a devoted grandmother, a passionate family historian, a master of the kitchen, and a lover of flowers. She had a talent for making people feel at home-whether through a homemade dish, a vase of fresh-cut flowers, or a long chat about family history. She spent years tracing her family's roots, preserving names, dates, and stories with her love and interest in genealogy.
Above all, Marie's greatest joy was her grandchildren. They were her world, and she made every birthday, holiday, and ordinary day special with her love, laughter, and unbeatable cooking and baking.
Marie is survived by her husband, Delbert "Gene" Nolan; children, Michael Nolan (Brittany), Brad Nolan (Christy) and Miranda Sporleder (Marty); brothers, Mike King (Lorrie) and Robert King (Mary); sisters, Margaret Berg and Marilyn King; grandchildren, Alli Nolan, Nikki (Jake) Axsom, Hannah Sporleder, Hunter Nolan, Tyler Sporleder, Alicia Sporleder, Liam Nolan and Audrey Nolan; one great-granddaughter, Paisley; and her beloved canine companion, Rushie.
She is preceded in death by her parents; mother and father in law, Delbert and Dorothy Nolan; and brother, Joe King.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation, 316 N Chestnut Street, Seymour. A second visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Pastor William Fredstrom, Immanuel Lutheran Church, will officiate. Services honoring Marie's life and legacy will begin at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 22. 2025 with burial to follow at Marion Baptist Church Cemetery in Paris Crossing, Indiana.
Memorial contributions in Marie's honor may be made out to the Bone Heath and Osteoporosis Foundation or to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
