Mark John Brenneis
Mark John Brenneis, 65, a longtime resident of both Montclair and Verona, passed away suddenly on June 15, 2025, while traveling on business in Asia.
Born and raised in Upper Montclair, Mark was the cherished son of the late John and Irene Brenneis. He was a proud alumnus of Xavier High School in New York City and Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. It was at Merrimack that he met his future wife, Nora McNevin. Mark and Nora married in 1984 and settled first in Montclair, then in Verona, where they lovingly raised their two children.
Mark dedicated 37 years of his career as a highly respected Sales Manager for IWK Packaging Machinery Company. His role saw him travel the world, developing creative and effective packaging solutions for his diverse clientele. His clients will remember him for his integrity, warm rapport and problem solving skills.
A man of deep faith, Mark was an active member of St. Cassian's Roman Catholic Church and an involved member of the Knights of Columbus. Beyond his professional and spiritual life, Mark was a man of many passions. He was an avid bird watcher, a meticulous stamp and coin collector, a devoted music buff, and a discerning lover of fine wine.
Mark leaves behind his beloved wife, Nora McNevin Brenneis; his loving son, Benjamin Brenneis, and daughter-in-law, Annie; his devoted daughter, Caroline Morris; and his much-adored grandchildren, Sloane Morris, Max Morris, and Charlotte Brenneis. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Katie McNevin; his brother-in-law, Barnes McNevin, and his wife, Anne; and several beloved nieces and nephews. His brother in law James predeceased him.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Cassian's Church, 187 Bellevue Avenue, Upper Montclair, NJ, on August 1, 2025, at 10:30 AM.

Hi Nora,
Very sad to hear of mark's passing. I have good memories of Mark during and after college. I'm in touch with a group of BSE Brothers from MC and when the news circulated amongst us, all had happy and warm and memories of times spent with Mark. ... What a nice Obituary!
Prayers for you all, Rick Wood

So very sorry to learn of Mark´s passing. We met when we both worked at Bosch Packaging in the mid - `80´s and were fast friends ever since. The last time we spent time together was at a trade show in Las Vegas 4 years ago. I will truly miss Mark´s sense of humor and zest for life.
