Martha G. Caldwell, 76, of Kewanee, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025, at OSF St. Anthony's Medical Center, Rockford. Martha was born March 8, 1949, in Rock Island, the daughter of Virgil Alfred and Charolette Bernadette (Cox) Anderson. Martha graduated from Rock Island High School with the class of 1968. She obtained a bachelor's degree from Arizona State University. She married and divorced Buford Eugene Gaskins, they remained friends. Martha married Jerry L. Caldwell on September 28, 1997, in Rock Island; he survives.
Martha is also survived by two children, Shawn (Crystal) Gaskins, Rock Island, Lynn Claros, Kewanee; stepchildren, Hollie (Thomas) Caldwell, Milan, Kolt Caldwell, Davenport; 22 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren with another on the way; and one great great-grandchild; sister, Barbara (Troy) Loy, Georgia. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kristina "Kris" Gaskins; and a brother, Gaylord Anderson.
Martha worked for Sears in the electronics department and was the receptionist for Jerry's Roofing, Rock Island. Martha enjoyed gardening and her animals. The time she spent with her family was her greatest joy.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Please leave an online condolence for Martha's family at www.golnickschuenemanfh.com.
