Martha Jean Carter, 70, of Scottsville, KY passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY. She fought a courageous battle against cancer twice and her strength, determination, the love for her family and Jesus was an inspiration to everyone. She retired from the Allen County School system where she enjoyed her job serving the youth of our community. She was a former employee of Dr. Joseph Zaydon after 33 years at the Dollar General Corporate office. She was a loved member of iLive Church and a devoted wife of 48 years to her husband, Roger, and a wonderful mother to her two children.
She is survived by her husband: Roger Carter;
1 daughter: Shannon Carver and husband, Kevin;
1 brother: Harold Anderson and wife, Cynthia;
4 sisters: Wanda Ferrell and husband, Ron; Dianna McDaniel, Teresa Towe and Linda Walker;
4 grandchildren: Alex Stinson and husband, Caleb; Jasmine Carter, Brooklyn Carter and Kanan Carver;
2 great grandchildren: Brynlee Stinson and Parker Stinson;
Her best friend: Dreama Pinson;
Several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 1 son: Josh Carter; 1 sister: Corana Preasmyer; 1 nephew: David Preasmyer and her parents: Harold B. Anderson, Sr. and Mattie Louise Andrews Anderson.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home with Kevin Carver, Harold Anderson and Ron Ferrell officiating and burial in Carter's Tabernacle Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday and after 7:00 A.M. until funeral time Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home.
