Martha Jean Ford, 72, of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025. She was born on February 5, 1953, in Chickamauga, GA. Martha was an active member of Delray Baptist Church of Rossville, GA. She will be remembered for her huge personality and she loved to joke with her family and friends. Martha was a hard worker and was employed at Buster Brown's Clothing for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Dorothy Evans; her siblings, Jerry Ann McCurdy, Steve Evans, Clifford Evans, Dana Evans, and twin sister, Mary Jean Plaster.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Melissa Renee Smith and Charles Andrew Gass; her grandson, Isaac Smith, her sisters, Glenda Veal; her special caregiver and friend, Laura Baty; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
