Martha Marie Pizzitola Hight died peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday, March 1, 2025. She was born February 19, 1930 in La Marque, Texas to Jack and Anna Pizzitola. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton J. Hight, daughters, Dana Kaye Bell and Patricia Mae Cone and five brothers and three sisters.
She graduated high school from La Marque, Texas and attended cosmetology college where she completed her certification. Her youthful marriage to Marvin Bell produced seven beautiful children which were the loves of her life. She spent all of her free time enjoying her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Other interests included gardening which produced fresh vegetables that she canned and prepared for her family and friends, She mentioned occasionally that she realized her passion for cooking later in life and would have liked to have attended school for the culinary arts to become a chef had she known earlier in life. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and her home was filled each weekend with those enjoying her amazing meals and gracious hospitality.
Other interests were her love for nature and flowers of all kinds. She paid particular attention to day lilies, and she attended monthly meetings of the Brazosport Day Lily Association and the Lone Star Daylily Association. She held various offices as president, vice-president and treasurer for these associations while enjoying numerous regional and state flower shows and trips. She was also involved with the Holiday Shores Homeowners Association and held various offices for the association over many years.
She leaves behind four children, Michael A. Bell and spouse Deborah Bell, daughter, Cynthia A. Dey and husband, Edward Dey, daughter, Kathleen L. Lucario and daughter, Tamara L. McDermott as well as eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. To 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 1101 Antoine, Houston, Texas 77055. Chapel service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 1101 Antoine, Houston, Texas 77055 with graveside services to follow at the Woodlawn Garden of Memories.
Pallbearers - David Bell, Don Alldredge, Carson Alldredge, Caige Alldredge, Tanner McMurrey, Staton McMurrey and Mason McMurrey.
