Martha Jarman Humphrey 73 of Jacksonville has made her transition from her works here on earth to her heavenly home on July 22, 2025, at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Gum Branch Road, Jacksonville with Reverend Damon Williamson officiating. Interment will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. Martha was born in Onslow County to the late; Haywood and Olive Mae Heath Jarman and was the third of six children. She is preceded in death by her brother David B. Jarman. Martha married the love of her life, Tommy Humphrey in 1970. He had been drafted into the Army and Martha accompanied him to Fort Bragg after they married. After the Vietnam War, Tommy and Martha returned home to Jacksonville and had a son, Jason. Tommy and Martha opened Down East Heating and Air Conditioning in 1986. A formidable team, Martha provided the office and administrative support for their growing business. In work, as in life, she was a steady support and encouragement for Tommy. She enjoyed working alongside him in business and serving the Lord with him as youth leaders and Sunday School teachers throughout the years. Martha was a beloved sister, mother, aunt and Mimi. Her presence among us will be greatly missed, but we are comforted to know she is reunited with Tommy and no longer in pain. Martha is survived by her son, Jason Humphrey and his wife, Kristal of Jacksonville, Granddaughter, Sarah Humphrey of Jacksonville and great granddaughter, Adaline Grace of Jacksonville. Also surviving her two sisters, Bonnie E. Jarman, of Jacksonville, Brenda Williams and her husband Steve of Jacksonville her two Brothers, Kenneth D. Jarman and his wife Wanda of Jacksonville and Randy T. Jarman and his wife Pat of Waxhaw, NC; her sister-in-law Robin P. Jarman of Jacksonville. The family will receive friends Monday July 28, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home 303 Chaney Ave. Jacksonville.
