Martha Etta Robinson Sallee age 97 departed this life peacefully on July 17, 2025 at her home in Hope, AR surrounded by family. She was born in Hope, AR May 11, 1928 to Ben and Pearl [Prince[ Robinson. On June 5, 1946 she married Lawrence David Sallee a recently returned WWII Marine veteran. They shared fifty three years of marriage until his passing in 2000. This union produced three children, Richard Sallee, of Oklahoma City, Sandra Faulkner of DeAnn, AR and Darlene Stuart of Ashdown, AR

Martha was the fourth oldest of ten children. All but one sibling, Delores Purtle of Hope, preceded her in death. Her birth order siblings were, Mildred Galloway, Irma Lee Henry, Annie Mae Butler, Laymond Robinson, Vonnie Gean Haltom, Raymond Robinson, Delores Purtle, Doris June Jones and Janelle Messer.

Immediate surviving family are: son, Richard, and his wife, Connie; daughter, Sandra, and her husband, Jack Faulkner; and daughter, Darlene and her husband Chuck Stuart, as well as her eight grandchildren, Erik, Brigitte, and Briana Sallee, Jacque, Jeffery, and Jim Faulkner, and Courtney, Bryan Purtle, Jill Harris and Amber Martin.

Additionally, Martha has sixteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Martha was always busy helping others. She was an expert seamstress, volunteered at her church tirelessly, and tended her many beautiful flowers lovingly. She was retired from Myers Bakery, where she was honored to serve as the workers' union steward. She was a 30 year member of the Hempstead County Extension Homemakers Council, a 70 plus year member of Unity Baptist Church, and as she loved music, an equally longtime choir member. In January 2021 the Arkansas State House of Representatives of the Ninety-Second General Assembly commemorated her thirteen years of volunteer service of hand knitting many thousands of soft warm caps for the University of Arkansas Children's Hospital, Hope in Action, and Heather Manor Nursing and Rehab.

Special thanks to caregivers Ms. Shelonda Stephens, Ms. Dana Hawthorne and Dierkson Hospice.

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service immediately to follow with Bro. Jay Pollan and Bro. Charles Jones officiating. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Hope.
