Martha Jean "Dolly" Vreeland, age 89, of Sturgis, Michigan, and longtime resident of Burr Oak, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, July 17, 2025, at Thurston Woods Villa in Sturgis.

She was born on June 14, 1936, in Burr Oak, Michigan, daughter of the late Charles and Juanita (Duncan) Greshaw. A proud graduate of Burr Oak High School, Class of 1954, Dolly lived nearly her entire life in the Burr Oak community.

On February 19, 1955, she married the love of her life, Jerry D. "Pat" Vreeland, in Angola, Indiana. They shared many cherished years together before his passing on October 10, 2011.

Dolly was a dedicated worker, spending 22 years at Doerr Products in Burr Oak before continuing her career at Sturgis Molded Products, where she later retired. She was also a faithful member of the Burr Oak United Methodist Church.

Dolly found joy in embroidery, tending to her yard, and dancing. Her vibrant spirit and warm heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving daughters: Kathy Dennis of Colon, Paula Klein of Mendon, and Juanita Vreeland of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren: Jeanette, Jessica, Marty, Stephanie, Michelle, Matt, and Cindy; great-grandchildren: Colton, Paige, Chris, Liam, Dierks, Austin, and Lucas; and a great-great-granddaughter, Marielyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry "Pat" Vreeland, and her son-in-law, Mark Klein.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 22nd at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis. A funeral service celebrating Dolly's life will follow at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Rodger Moyer of Thurston Woods Village officiating. A graveside committal will take place at Burr Oak Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be directed to Thurston Woods Village, 307 N. Franks Ave., Sturgis, MI 49091 or the National Parkinson Disease Foundation, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
