Mass of Christian Burial for Martha "Toots" will be held at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish - St Cecelia in Algona on Friday July 25, 2025 at 10:30 am. Mass will be livestreamed via Lentz Funeral Home's website: https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/martha-wagner. Burial will be at the LuVerne Cemetery in LuVerne, Iowa at 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 26. Visitation will be Thursday, July 24 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona with a rosary beginning at 3:45 pm. Lentz Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Martha "Toots" daughter of Ralph and Avis Schumacher of Whittemore was born on February 22, 1943. She graduated from Garrigan and worked for the White House for a couple of years, when she met Harlin "Whitey" Wagner and they married on November 28, 1964. The couple lived in LuVerne. Martha "Toots" painted many houses in LuVerne and also a mural on one of the town's building wall, and the American Flag on her garage. After raising 3 children, when all were in school, she went to work for Algona Floor Design in Algona and remained there for 35 years. She retired in Algona and had a life full of family and friends. She kept busy loving, laughing and cheering on her kids, grandkids & great grandkids. She also kept up with all her siblings and her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed Family gatherings and was the matriarch. She enjoyed attending church and gathered with her friends after.
She is survived by her son John (Kris) Wagner, Algona, Daughter Christine (Mike) Klenz, Bancroft, Daughter Lynn (Terril) Johnson, Algona. Grandchildren A.J (Morgan) Wagner, Abbey Wagner, Dalton Klenz, Danika Klenz. Great grandchildren Rhett and Wyatt Wagner. Sisters, Rita Thorson, Linda Sullivan, Debbie Immerfall. And many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harlin "Whitey" Wagner, Parents Ralph & Avis Schumacher, Children, Daughter Karen Wagner, Son Jerry Wagner. Brothers, Sonny Schumacher, Bob Schumacher. In-laws Eward & Sadie Wagner.
