Martin "Marty" George Caldwell Jr, age 81, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans' Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on Wednesday, May 17, 1944, to Martin and Ada Caldwell in Rich Mountain, Arkansas.
Marty lived a full and meaningful life, defined by service, connection, and love. A proud Army veteran, he served his country on a tug boat working as a diesel engines mechanic, combining his passion for aviation with his dedication to duty. Marty deeply loved his children and found great joy in being a father, always putting their happiness first. Known for his generous spirit, he was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need and took pride in being a devoted and active member of the local Elk Lodge. Marty never met a stranger-he loved to talk with everyone, spreading warmth and stories wherever he went. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the community he helped build.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings; Lorene McKibben, Leon Caldwell, and Jess Caldwell.
Marty is survived by his children Andrea Caldwell, Martin "Mac" Caldwell, Katlyn and Michael Kesterson, Joseph Evans Jr, his grandkids; Jaidyn, Kash, Journey, McKenzie, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Mena Elks Lodge 781. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Mena Elks Lodge Veterans Committee.
