Marvis Wilson Sr. was born on November 27, 1945, and passed away at his loving home on January 3, 2025. He was born in New Albany, Mississippi I n1945 to his loving parents Leona Lee Turner and Thomas Orville Wilson Sr. He was the only child born between his mother and father. However, he was the youngest of five siblings through his father, whereas JoAnna Carmencita James (Wilson) what the fourthborn child. Thomas Orville Wilson Jr. was the thirdborn child, and Rev. Barbara Jean Monden (Wilson) was the fourthborn child. Additionally, Marvis Wilson Sr.'s maternal grandmother and maternal grandfather raised Marvis Sr. for the first seven years of his life in New Albany, Mississippi, until his mother got reestablished in Chicago. And then, in Chicago, he attended the Nation of Islam High School and graduated in 1963. Shortly after that, Marvis Sr. moved to Pittsburgh, PA, and met the love of his life, his beautiful wife Kathy Wilson there in 1968. And then on November 1, 1969, in Chicago, Illinois, Marvis Sr. and Kathy got married and began their beautiful union together as husband and wife. And had 5 beautiful children together (two girls, and three boys) where they resided for 35 years in Illinois, and the last 20 years of their lives together between Maryland and Virginia.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Marvis Sr. was a well-educated man, who loved to learn and had many accomplishments. He was known by many to be a very astute man, who was a Jack-of-All-Trades, as he attended various colleges and was a college graduate of various degrees in: Engineering for Furnaces and Boilers, Carpentry, Plumbing, Automotive Repair/Mechanic, Professional Cooking/Chef, and as a Professional Writer. Moreover, Marvis Sr. had a passion for reading many books and learning about all kinds of things in life, as well as authoring books. And he once drafted a book called "The Lucky Suit", although he never got a chance to publish it. Moreover, Marvis Sr. was an outgoing person who was very adventurous and enjoyed trying out new things with his loving wife, family and friends. He enjoyed trying out new things with his loving wife, family and friends. He enjoyed watching Sci-Fi movies, as well as learning anything about science. And his favorite movie of all times was "The Color Purple".
Additionally, he enjoyed: spending time with his beautiful wife and family, playing his guitar, cooking gourmet meals, and barbequing on his grill. Overall, Marvis Sr. had a lot of friends and was very loved by all his family and friends. And will be deeply missed by them all and never be forgotten.
PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY:
Marvis Wilson Sr. was preceded in death by his loving parents Leona Lee Turner and Thomas Orville Wilson Sr., his maternal grandparents, two daughters Consuela Wilson and Myesha Wilson, one grandson Trevor Wilson who they raised as a son, one great-granddaughter Consuela Wilson, one sister JoAnna Carmencita James (Wilson), and two brothers Curtis Wilson and Thomas Orville Wilson Jr.
SURVIVED BY
Additionally, Marvis Wilson Sr. is survived by his beautiful wife Kathy M. Wilson of 55 beautiful years together, three sons: Lasayfies Wilson, Quinta Wilson, and Marvis Wilson Jr., fourteen grandkids with a special acknowledgement to Brandy Wilson who they raise as a daughter, five great-grand kids, one sister Rev. Barbara Jean Monden (Wilson), and a host of nieces and nephews.
