Mary Nichols Bonario, 92, a resident of League City, previously of Dickinson, Texas, passed from this life on Friday, July 4, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born on May 6, 1933 in Galveston, Texas to parents, Gus Nichols and Sophia (Petras) Nichols.
Mary served as a nurse for over 40 years in various medical clinics. She was well loved by patients who remembered her well after her retirement. Mary always greeted everyone with a smile, open arms and a heartfelt hug.
Her greatest joy was being with family. She was an amazing mom, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a faithful member of Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, brother Nick Nichols, and her loving husband, Roy W. Bonario.
She leaves behind to treasure her memory, daughter, Sophia Arend and husband, Jeffrey; grandchildren, Zachary and Natalie Arend and their children, Layla and Callan; Rachael and Christopher Lunney and their children, Vivian and Claire; Jacob and Stephanie Arend and their children, Samuel and Olivia; Jared and Maggie Arend; and Erica Arend.
In her honor, there will be a visitation on Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Webster, Texas. A rosary will follow at 7:00pm. There will be a funeral mass on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 10:30am at Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church in Dickinson, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Zachary Arend, Jacob Arend, Jared Arend, Christopher Lunney and Trevor Adams.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Shrine of the True Cross in Dickinson or Our Lady of Lourdes in Hitchcock
