Mary (Bister) Champney, 73, of Jericho, VT died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, June 8th, 2025.
Mary was born July 9th, 1951, to Irma (Yantze) and Edward Bister Jr. Mary received her G.E.D. in 1984. Mary and her 2 oldest children Lisa and Pete, married Freemond Champney Jr. on March 29th, 1974. Mary said it was a package deal. They then had 3 girls, Kelly (1974), Becky and Dani.
After years of raising their children, Mary received her CDL license to drive over the road with Freemond, which was her greatest joy.
Mary worked at Walmart in Williston for the last 18 years as a cashier.
Mary enjoyed being with her family, reading, making baby blankets, bootie socks, hats and mittens. Watching Braves baseball.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Freemond and daughter Kelly.
Mary is survived by her children Lisa, Pete and wife Michelle, Becky and husband Al, and Dani. Two sisters Dealia Rooney and Cathrine Bister/Hogan. Two brothers Edward III and Karl Bister. Thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Many nieces, nephews, friends, and many Walmart customers.
Services will be Monday, June 16th from 11am-1pm at Gifford Funeral Home in Richmond. Luncheon to follow. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Mary, please visit our floral store.
