Mary Francis Donegan, passed away peacefully at her home in Dickson, Tennessee, on July 21, 2025, at the age of 84.
Francis was born September 1, 1940, in the quaint town of Colesburg in Dickson County, TN, to the late Bud Henry Ashworth and Elsie Mae (Glasner) Ashworth Bailey. She was a beloved mother to her six children. She was known as "Granny Donegan," to her own grandchildren and to many others. She enjoyed flower gardening and watching birds. Roses and Daisies were her favorite flowers. The Cardinal is her favorite bird.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda Hall, Sheila Spann, Carolyn Woodard, Thomas "Tom" Donegan, Jr. (Stacey), David Donegan, and Sherry Traughber, caregiver; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lillie Mae Hampton; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lloyd Donegan, Sr.; and siblings, Buford Ashworth, Pauline Vineyard, Aline Henry, Loretta Gray, and Mona Sue Ashworth.
Visitation and Funeral services will be at Dickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. and will resume on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Bro. Bob Hammer will be officiating. Interment will follow in Dugan Cemetery.
