Mary Edmonson Obituary
Mary Dean was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Oscar M. Edmonson; her father, Samuel P. Collier III, her mother and stepfather, Sarah & Walter Barnes; her brother, Samuel P. Collier IV; her sister-in-law, Juanita Rabon, her son-in-law, Chris Webb, and her niece, Bettye Dee Rabon.
She is survived by her 5 children Kathy Webb, Buddy Edmonson (Tammy), Susan Figaro (Mike), Lee Edmonson, Ricee Hurley (Scott) and Sam the dog; 7 grandchildren, Anthony Figaro (Stephanie), Melissa Duthu (Dave), Nico Figaro, Tanner Edmonson (Kajhia), Madelyn Edmonson, Jack Hurley and Laci McClean (Chase); and 8 great-grandchildren, Dominic Figaro, Isabella Figaro, Luke Duthu, Taylin Edmonson, Karleigh Duthu, Josephine Figaro, Luke McClean, and Ella Grace McClean. Mary Dean is also survived by her brother-in-law & sister-in-law, William & Hazel Edmonson and 3 nieces.
Mary Dean was a homemaker for 47 years. She then worked for John Curtis Christian School as a bus driver coordinator of the buses for over 20 years. She was a member of Kenner Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir. She liked to bowl and was in a bowling league at Airline Bowl for many years. Mary Dean truly enjoyed her family and family gatherings. She was the best cook. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren and family dogs, Sam and Jewel always brought a smile to her face. She especially enjoyed holiday activities with all the family at The Blake.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr. Metairie, Louisiana 70001. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a service starting at 12:00 pm. Internment will follow immediately after services.
Mary Dean requested that EVERYONE WEAR BRIGHT COLORS.
