Mary Lennell Ensey, age 70, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on July 7, 2025, surrounded by her most treasured friends and family.
Born on July 17, 1954, Lennell was the beloved daughter of the late Enoch Neil Ensey and Anna Jane Ensey, and survived by cherished sister Gloria Jane Andrews (Fred).
Lennell was a faithful and active member of Lambuth United Methodist Church, where she served on numerous committees and was a beloved fixture in the kitchen during every church dinner. Her devotion & love to her church family ran deep, just as it did with her work family at the Sumner County Register of Deeds office, where she proudly served for 32 years.
Above all, Lennell was a devoted mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to her daughter Tammi, son-in-law Ronnie, and her grandchildren Mary Jane (Janie), Anna Katherine (Katie), and Carter Neil Whitefield. She never missed a dance recital, cheer competition, basketball game, or baseball game - always cheering the loudest and loving the deepest.
Lennell spent many years as a Girl Scout leader and quickly became “Nana” not just to her own grandchildren, but to many of their friends as well as “Sissy” to her nieces & great nephews. Her home and heart were always open.
She found joy in family traditions, holiday celebrations, cooking, country music concerts, and traveling—especially beach vacations and Caribbean cruises with family & her special group of friends.
Mary Lennell Ensey will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generous heart, and the unconditional love she poured into everyone around her. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the family she adored.
