Mary Jane Allison Gorey, 92, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Maysville, passed away on July 23, 2025, at the Maysville Nursing and Rehab Facility.

Mary was born December 9, 1932 in Mason County, to the late Rutherford L. and Myrtle R. McCord Allison. Following her high school graduation, Mary Jane began working for Browning Manufacturing in Maysville. She later took a job with Kentucky Central Insurance where she worked her way up to a VP position before retiring. After her retirement at Kentucky Central, Mary Jane took a job working in the office of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington and worked there until her recent retirement at age 90. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Lexington and was a fan of the UK Wildcats basketball team.

Survivors include her brother, R. L. Allison and his wife Ann; sisters, Carol Mason, and Brenda Scheek and her husband Edward; nieces and nephews, Walter Allen Rosser, Lee Allison, Wayne Scheek, and Allison Alexander; her close friends, Carolyn Bland and Karen Howard; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John William Gorey; her brother, Danny Allison; her sister, Evelyn Rosser; and nieces Janie Hord and Laura Simms.

Funeral Services for Mary Jane Gorey will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday July 26, 2025, at Brell and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Heskamp officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
