Mary Ethel "Sis" Hammack, age 90, of Waynesboro, TN, departed this world on Saturday, July 5, 2025. She was born on December 3, 1934, in Cypress Inn, TN, the cherished daughter of the late Dewey Lee and Altie Barkley Hammack.
Mary dedicated many years of her life to her career as a supervisor at Clifton Manufacturing, where her leadership and commitment shone brightly until the company closed its doors. Beyond her professional endeavors, Mary was a member of Green River Tabernacle in Waynesboro, TN.
Mary had a passion for travel, always eager to explore new places and create lasting memories. Whether it was visiting her beloved brother in Michigan or discovering new sights, her zest for life was evident. She also found joy in simple pleasures, especially relishing every moment spent enjoying her favorite pastime-eating fish.
Mary's warmth, generosity, and love for her family and friends will be profoundly missed. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her brothers, Paul Hammack and his wife Margaret of Collinwood, TN, and John Hammack and his wife Ruby of Lincoln Park, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by brothers, Troy Franklin Hammack, Roy Lee Hammack, James Hammack, and Willie David Hammack; as well as a sister named Juanita Irene Howell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN with Bro. Joel Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Balentine Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
