On March 15, 1953, Mary "Lynny" Lynn was the third of five children born to Robert and Marion (Patzwald) Johnson in De Smet, SD. She graduated from De Smet Public High School in 1971. In the fall following graduation, Lynny was married to Tom Hein on September 24, 1971, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in De Smet, SD. The young couple would raise three sons: Jason, Barry, and Jeffrey.
Lynny was a devoted mother and a great cook- never missing one of her sons' events and always making sure they had enough to eat at supper. Outside of her family, she also loved her dogs: Max, Murph, Jax, and Husker to name a few favorites over the years. In her free time, Lynny loved to lay out in the sun with a good book or tend to her vegetable garden.
Lynny is survived by her husband, Tom; three sons: Jason of Tyndall, SD, Barry of Brookings, SD, and Jeffrey of Brookings, SD; as well as many extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marion (Patzwald) Johnson; four siblings: James Johnson, Margaret Johnson, Carol Walter, and Mike Johnson; maternal grandparents, Fred and Frances Patzwald; and paternal grandparents, Carl and Angela Johnson.
