It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Martha (Lezanic) McMahan, 73, on September 7, 2025, at Butler Memorial Hospital. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing following her courageous battle with cancer.

Mary was born in Indiana, PA, on November 15, 1951, to the late John and Martha (Kovach) Lezanic. She attended Marion Center High School, where she met her loving husband, Dale McMahan, and graduated in 1970. The two married and started a family together, which became the center of her life. After graduating from the Indiana Beauty Academy, Mary opened and ran her own hair salon in Ernest, PA.

Mary and Dale built a home together in Indiana, PA, where they hosted countless gatherings for family and friends. For over 40 years, holidays, birthdays, card nights, and pool parties were a frequent occurrence at the McMahan household thanks to Mary's selfless efforts. Those who had the pleasure of meeting Mary know that she always created a welcoming, fun, and entertaining environment. She will be remembered for her caring spirit, tender heart, and for how she put the needs of others before her own.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her and Dale were always together and enjoyed boating, playing card games, shopping, attending late model races, and rides in their Jeep. Whether it be sporting events, school dances, or graduation ceremonies, she and Dale never missed any of their daughters' or grandchildren's activities. Mary also loved vacations with family, with her and Dale going all over the country to places like Las Vegas, New York City, Nashville, the Caribbean, Niagara Falls, visiting National Parks out West, and yearly trips to visit her sister in Miami Beach.

Her husband, daughters, granddaughters, sisters, and countless other family members and friends were her life, and she fought to be with them until the very end. She gave everything she had to those around her, and our lives have forever changed with her passing.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Dale McMahan, two daughters; Tami (Jerry) Smithmyer and Kristy Sagi, five grandchildren; Abbi Smithmyer, Addison Sagi, Michael Sagi, Rebecca Sagi, and John Sagi, and three "sister sisters" as they lovingly call themselves; Delores (Frank) Palilla, Barbara Jean, Bj (Ric) Waxman, and Janet (Dave) Sitosky, as well as other loving family members.

In accordance with her wishes, a cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life at a later time. We invite you to honor Mary's life by sharing your favorite memories of her.

With heartfelt gratitude, we the family respectfully thank and acknowledge each and every one of you for your visits, calls, prayers, cards, floral arrangements, and all other expressions of love throughout Mary's last year. Thank you also to all the doctors, nurses, and staff who took care of her at Butler Memorial Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Penn Township Harcrest Community Park. https://penntownship.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/HARCREST-PARK-donation-form.pdf

Dale, Tammy, and Kristy and family members
Know that all of you will be in our prayers. Mary was a very special and loved person. She will be missed tremendously. Even though we didn't see Mary often, it's difficult to imagine that she won't be in our earthly lives any longer. We know that she rests with Jesus now. God bless you all. Love you guys.
