Mary Alise Reynolds, 68, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. She was born on January 28, 1957 in Manchester, the daughter of Allan Eugene and Mary Georgia (Vinton) Hamblin. Mary was raised and attended school in the Strawberry Point area and graduated from Starmont High School in 1975. After graduation Mary enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably for two years.
After her armed service Mary worked as a bus driver for Western Dubuque in Epworth and in her final years worked at Berry Plastics in Peosta. Mary enjoyed riding her motorcycle in her younger years and always enjoyed her years of farming near Lamont. She enjoyed spending time outside, playing cards, playing games on her tablet and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Fourteen years ago, fate brought Mary and her beloved partner together in an unexpected way. The couple met while Mary's mother was being cared for by Anne at a local nursing home. From then on, Mary and Anne shared a beautiful journey of love, laughter, and companionship.
Survivors include her lifelong partner, Anne Hayes of Strawberry Point; her sister, Cathy Smith of Strawberry Point; her brother, Ray Hamblin of Strawberry Point; her nieces, LeAnn (Brad) Baumgartner of Arlington and Cristen (Curt) Bockenstedt of Strawberry Point; her great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a sister in infancy, Elizabeth Hamblin; and her brother-in-law, Tim Smith.
