Mary K. Schafer, age 91, of Deptford, NJ, formerly of Audubon, NJ, passed away on July 2, 2025.
Mary was a familiar face to many through her dedicated service at the Cooper Hospital Gift Shop. Her kindness and warm smile brought comfort to countless visitors over the years. A devout member of St. Mary's Church in Gloucester City, she was actively involved in the parish community, living her faith through service and fellowship. She found joy in life's simple pleasures - she was an avid reader, a lover of word search puzzles, and a devoted cat lover.
Devoted mother of William Svihla, Jr. (Lisa), the late Sharon Svihla, and Stacey Zioance (William Hargrove, Jr.). Loving grandmother of Donna Farlow (Pete), Christopher Svihla (Patty), Jessica Procopio (Mike), Joseph Gillespie, and Lily Zioance. Treasured great grandmother of Peter, Colton, Keegan, Gabe, Serenity, Jared, Brandon, and Karissa. Mary was preceded in death by first husband, William Svihla, Sr., and she is survived by her former spouse, John Zioance.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday July 11th from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Gloucester City, 426 Monmouth St. Gloucester City, NJ, 08030. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor New York, NY 10001.
