Mary Sotelo Obituary

Mary Jane Sotelo, 78, a resident of Virden, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, July 10, 2025 at her residence. She was born April 9, 1947 to her parents, Henry and Eva (Denogean) Soto in Superior, Arizona.
We lost a piece of our hearts on July 10, 2025. Mary Jane was raised in Bisbee, Arizona. In 1963 she married Richard Jimenez and had two (2) daughters (Lisa and Gina). She married Bobby Holder Sr. in 1968 where she had two more children (Cindy and Bobby). In 1976 her family moved to the Duncan/Virden area. Her husband, Bobby, unexpectedly passed away in 2009.
In 2015 Mary Jane married Manny Sotelo and this marriage brought four (4) additional children into her life (Birdie, Mano, Omar, and Maria). Mary Jane and Manny enjoyed spending time with all of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and traveling between their homes in Virden, New Mexico and Tucson, Arizona.
She is survived by her husband, Manuel Sotelo of Tucson, AZ; her three sons, Bobby Holder (Kendra) of Virden, NM, Mano Sotelo (Carolyn) of Tucson, AZ and Omar Sotelo (Diane) of Tucson, AZ; her five daughters, Lisa Barquin (Jim) of Flagstaff, AZ, Gina Foster (Rick) of Hazel Green, AL, Cindy Brock (Bobby) of Tupelo (MS), Bertha Ann Rollins (Rick) of Tucson, AZ and Maria Teresa Shoemaker (Lucas) of Tucson, AZ; her brother Frank Soto (Linda) of Bisbee, AZ; her sister Hope Lanphier (Steve) of Palmer, AK; her twenty five grandchildren; her fifteen great-grandchildren; her numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The Holy Rosary will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 11:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church (Duncan, AZ), with the Memorial Mass commencing at 12:00pm with Father Nathaniel Mma officiating. The inurnment will be held at Virden Catholic Cemetery following the services, at 1:30pm.
